"Mola mola" I've been facinated with this strange creature since my Dad took me deep sea fishing when I was a kid! Sculpted in wax and cast in bronze with kelp fronds supporting the fish. This is our 68th Limited Edition Bronze
"SUNSTRUCK" This is a work in progress, my next limited edition bronze. Three Pond Turtles, sunning themselves on a submerged log.
"Ptranodon sternbergi" Fabricated Metal Sculpture one of the largest flying reptiles that ever lived
Bill and Rebecca have occassionally collaborated on large unique pieces, combining fabricated steel, bronze and copper sculpture with curved stained glass panels. In 1996 they completed a large sculpture project for the Sheraton Waikiki A coral reef scene with three Green Sea Turtles and 17 tropical reef fish including Humuhumunukunukuapuaa; Hawaii's State Fish (also known as a reef triggerfish). Other fish include Yellow Tangs and a Trumpetfish, Ornate Butterflyfish, Longnose Butterflyfish, Achilles Tangs, Moorish Idol, Eyestripe Surgeon, Redlipped Parrotfish, Orangespine Unicornfish and a Moray Eel.The turtles and fish incorporate Rebecca's kiln slumped stained glass. The glass is set in the shell plates of the turtles and in the bodies of the fish. A tubular stainless steel support system carries fiber optic cable into each fish and each turtle to illuminate the stained glass. A facade of coral shapes, also done in metal sculpture, covers the support system. The finished metal work is powder coated in various tropical colors, then polished, pinstriped and airbrushed for detail.
LATEST COMMISSION
