This most unusual fish; also known as Ocean Sunfish, can grow to be the largest bony fish in the world, their mass only exceeded by Whale sharks, Basking Sharks and large Manta Rays. They are slow, and tend to drift with currents, following their prey, pelagic swarms of Jellyfish, and Salps or colonial tunicates. Their odd arrangement of dorsal and ventral fins and the absence of a true tail allows them to manouver around the margin of the Jellyfish while feeding.
